Sparta Academy and Clarke Prep are an even 4-4 against one another since November of 2017, but not for long. The Sparta Academy Warriors will be playing at home against the Clarke Prep Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sparta Academy is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Sparta Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 61-6 victory over Crenshaw Christian Academy. With that victory, Sparta Academy brought their scoring average up to 51.6 points per game.
Krisalyn Johnson and Jamie Ellissa Deason were among the main playmakers for Sparta Academy as the former scored 14 points along with 7 steals and 5 rebounds and the latter scored 23 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. The contest was Deason's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Johnson, who scored 9 points along with 9 steals.
Meanwhile, Clarke Prep had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of Ezekiel Academy by a score of 53-50.
Sparta Academy's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Clarke Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Everything went Sparta Academy's way against Clarke Prep when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as Sparta Academy made off with a 72-49 victory. Will Sparta Academy repeat their success, or does Clarke Prep have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
