This season hasn't been kind to the Tallwood Lions, who are still winless after their 12th contest. They took a serious blow against Bayside on Friday, falling 61-10. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tallwood in their matchups with Bayside: they've now lost nine in a row.
Bayside was led to victory by Jessie Ware and Micala Poe. Ware scored 19 points along with six steals, while Poe scored 25 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Ware is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Crawford, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and five steals.
Tallwood bumped their record down to 0-12 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.3 points per game. As for Bayside, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tallwood the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Landstown at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Bayside will take on Cox at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cox comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
