For the second straight game, Manteo will face off against Hertford County. The Redskins will be playing at home against the Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Manteo has three straight wins, Hertford County has 13 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Manteo's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Hertford County with a sharp 19-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Redskins, who have now won ten games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Drew Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.
