The Ridgeland-Hardeeville Jaguars will head out on the road to challenge the Edisto Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Ridgeland-Hardeeville will be strutting in after a win while the Cougars will be coming in after a defeat.
Ridgeland-Hardeeville had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Barnwell with a 56-52 win on Friday.
Meanwhile, Edisto's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They fell 43-34 to Hampton County. While losing is never fun, Edisto can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while the Hurricanes are ranked 55th).
Ridgeland-Hardeeville's victory bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Edisto, they dropped their record down to 6-15 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Ridgeland-Hardeeville didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Cougars when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 49-45 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ridgeland-Hardeeville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
