Eastern is 0-10 against School Without Walls since April of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Ramblers will host the Penguins at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Eastern took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They never let Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory. The Ramblers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Landon Beard was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Beard was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.
In other batting news, Eastern let Simon Riedel and Rassan Bennett run wild. Riedel went 1-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Bennett went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. What's more, Riedel posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. Wesley Hanks was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, School Without Walls faced DC International in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Penguins put the hurt on the Dragons with a sharp 11-1 victory.
Alex Springer looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Zach Daskal-Koss, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of School Without Walls' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Smith, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one triple and two RBI.
School Without Walls always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Eastern has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .516. However, it's not like School Without Walls struggles in that department as they've averaged .447. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
