It was a good run, but the Marietta Blue Devils unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Wednesday. They suffered a rough 79-55 defeat at the hands of North Paulding. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Marietta in their matchups with North Paulding: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Marietta still got an impressive performance from Kyann Senior, who scored 28 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Senior continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Frances Storey was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight steals and five rebounds.
Marietta's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5. As for North Paulding, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marietta on the road again on Friday and play against Harrison at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Harrison will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. As for North Paulding, they will head out on the road to face off against McEachern at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (McEachern is ranked 21st, while North Paulding is ranked 13th).
