The Arrupe Jesuit Generals had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took down Rocky Mountain Prep SMART 50-31 on Tuesday. This was payback for Arrupe Jesuit, who suffered a 33-17 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Arrupe Jesuit found their leader in underclassman Ari Cowans, who scored 26 points along with 5 rebounds. Xavier Martinez was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 12 rebounds.
Arrupe Jesuit's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Rocky Mountain Prep SMART, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arrupe Jesuit will take on SkyView Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully SkyView Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday. As for Rocky Mountain Prep SMART, they will be playing at home against Sheridan at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
