The Dublin Fighting Irish stacked a 13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 57-24 victory over Jefferson County at home. With Dublin ahead 36-13 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Dublin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caitlyn Nesbitt led the charge by scoring 12 points along with seven steals. Nesbitt hasn't dropped below three steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nahallie Turnley, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Despite the defeat, Jefferson County saw an underclassman step up: Jaelissia Reeves dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds. That was a full 58.3% of Jefferson County's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Dublin's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Jefferson County, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-21.
Dublin will look to defend their home court on Friday against East Laurens at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Georgia (East Laurens is ranked 156th, while Dublin is ranked 168th).
