Baseball Recap: Providence School Beats Richmond Hill for Their Third Straight Victory

Providence School had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Richmond Hill Wildcats by a score of 8-4.

Ryan Smith looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Providence School got a massive performance out of Grant Sheppard, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Preston Matricardi was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Providence School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Providence School's record is now 15-8. As for Richmond Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-9.
