Denver East is 8-2 against Denver South since February of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Denver East Angels will take on the Denver South Ravens at 12:00 p.m. One thing working in Denver East's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests.

Despite the loss, Denver East had strong showings from JAMES MURRAY, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds, and NIJIER ALEXANDER, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 16 points and four steals. Those four steals gave ALEXANDER a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of LINCOLN LEMIEUX, who posted eight points along with six boards and four blocks.
Even though they lost, Denver East smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Denver South faced Rangeview in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Denver South fell 50-42 to Rangeview. The Ravens' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.
Denver East will have to contain Dominic Rhoades-Martinez as he made an impact in Denver South's last game. He earned 22 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. Rhoades-Martinez has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jayden Davis, who scored nine points.
Denver South's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Denver East, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Denver East has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.6 boards per game. However, it's not like Denver South struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.4 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Denver East came up short against Denver South in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 66-55. Can Denver East avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
