In what's become a running theme this season, the Cunningham Wildcats gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They breezed by Stafford on the road to the tune of 69-39. Given Cunningham's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Stafford is ranked 230th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Cunningham to victory were Luke Albers and Will Wegerer. Albers scored 22 points along with seven steals and two blocks, while Wegerer scored 30 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Albers posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke McGuire, who scored six points along with six assists and six rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Cunningham and bumps their season record up to 7-2. As for Stafford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-5.
Cunningham will face off against Norwich at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Norwich is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Stafford, they will challenge Fairfield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
