4A Region IV District 25 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Mike Richardson and Garrett Gray provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Boerne-Champion. The connection went for 73 yards, the longest such play in 4A Region IV District 25 this season.
DEREK McLEMORE of Dripping Springs ran for the longest rushing play in the league this season against Crockett last week. McLEMORE ran for 67 yards on the play and finished with 88 on the day as his team beat the Cougars.
Marble Falls's dynamic duo of Richardson and Gray proved tough for the Chargers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Richardson threw for 725 yards and seven touchdowns and Gray had 293 yards receiving. Carson Bowen helped Marble Falls' passing attack out by catching nine balls for 208 yards.
Billy McCrary was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 173 yards on 33 carries as Rouse topped Boerne-Champion. Demetrius Hood also contributed to the rushing game with 91 yards on the ground.
Marble Falls' Richardson and Gray have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 4A Region IV District 25 in both passing and receiving yards. Richardson has thrown for 1485 yards this season, while Gray has 36 catches for 556 yards. Caleb Woodward from Leander leads the league in rushing with 651 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Vandegrift takes on Vista Ridge. The Vipers are in seventh place, while the Rangers are in first place.
The Lions were able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Pflugerville 20-0. Leander came in at 15 in the state poll after placing at number 47 last week.
