The Castle View Sabercats won the last time they faced the Grand Junction Tigers, and things went their way on Saturday too. Castle View enjoyed a cozy 59-40 victory over Grand Junction. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Castle View.
Castle View's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Mckean, who scored 17 points along with 3 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Mckean has scored at least 25% of Castle View's points. Larenzo Dixon was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Grand Junction's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Brett Woytek, who scored 9 points, and Will Applegate who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds.
Castle View's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Grand Junction, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.
Castle View will be playing at home against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 104th, while Castle View is ranked 29th). As for Grand Junction, they will face off against Far Northeast W at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Far Northeast W focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday.
