In what's become a running theme this season, Math & Science College Preparatory gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They breezed by Foshay on the road to the tune of 78-43.
Meanwhile, with a playoff game on the line, Maywood Academy rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 75-59 win over the Titans. The victory was some much needed relief for Maywood Academy as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Maywood Academy found their leader in underclassman Miranda, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 assists. Miranda has been hot recently, having posted ten or more assists the last nine times he's played. Fernando Payan was another key contributor, shooting 4-for-7 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds.
Math & Science College Preparatory is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. As for Maywood Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-18.
