Softball Recap: Westhill Has No Trouble Against Cortland

Westhill won against Skaneateles on Monday with 20 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Everything went the Warriors' way against the Cortland Purple Tigers as they made off with a 20-1 win. Considering the Warriors have won four contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Samantha Snyder was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Sydney Medeiros was incredible, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those RBI were her first of the season. Adi Kohanski was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with four RBI and two runs.

Westhill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .644. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Westhill now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Cortland, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Westhill will welcome Marcellus at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Cortland, they will head out to square off against Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
