The Satellite Scorpions won the last time they faced the West Shore Wildcats, and things went their way on Friday too. Satellite walked away with a 52-43 win over West Shore. Given Satellite's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while West Shore is ranked 456th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Satellite found their leader in underclassman Michael Otero, who scored 20 points. The contest was Otero's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Zander Tantius, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Christian Rebec, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Beau Couture, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Satellite's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for West Shore, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Satellite's road trip will continue as they head out to face Melbourne at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. As for West Shore, they will square off against Bayside at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Bayside is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
