Sandpoint is 2-8 against Moscow since May of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bears at 12:00 p.m. Sandpoint is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
On Tuesday, Sandpoint made easy work of Bonners Ferry and carried off a 16-3 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won six games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jayden Kuprienko tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, Mason Little was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Sandpoint's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 6-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Lehman, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
Sandpoint kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Moscow had just enough and edged out Post Falls 4-2 on Thursday.
Moscow also got a great performance from Max Winfree as he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tyson Izzo, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Moscow has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Sandpoint, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-10.
Saturday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Sandpoint has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .444. However, it's not like Moscow struggles in that department as they've averaged .439. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Sandpoint might still be hurting after the 10-2 loss they got from Moscow when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Bulldogs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
