It was a good run, but the Seymour Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost to Holy Cross on the road by a decisive 69-55 margin. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Seymour's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Indrit Peraj, who scored 27 points along with nine rebounds. The match was Peraj's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Carrafiello, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Seymour's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2. As for Holy Cross, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Seymour will look to defend their home court on Friday against Crosby at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Crosby's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Holy Cross, they will head out on the road to face off against Wolcott at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wolcott comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
