Even though the Put-in-Bay Panthers have not done well against the Harding Skippers recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Put-in-Bay managed a 31-25 victory over the Skippers. For Put-in-Bay, this counts as revenge for the 47-25 loss the Skippers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Madisen Mcfadden and Madison Hunt certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Mcfadden scored 12 points along with seven rebounds, while Hunt scored seven points along with two steals. That was a full 48% of Harding's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Put-in-Bay's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Harding, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-13.
Put-in-Bay does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Harding will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Lakers at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Pymatuning Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Thursday.
