On Friday, Gladewater beat Brook Hill 47-38. The victory was all the more spectacular given Gladewater's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 788th, while Brook Hill is ranked 183rd).
Despite the loss, Brook Hill saw an underclassman step up: Savannah Onley scored 8 points along with 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Karmen Miller, who scored 3 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Gladewater and bumps their season record up to 3-3. As for Brook Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-3.
Gladewater will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Jacksonville at 4:00 p.m. on December 2nd. As for Brook Hill, they will square off against Center at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
