The Greenbrier Christian Academy Gators will head out on the road to challenge the Granby Comets at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenbrier Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.

Greenbrier Christian Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Virginia's top teams: Steward, who was ranked 21st at the time (Greenbrier Christian Academy was ranked second). Greenbrier Christian Academy was the clear victor by a 16-0 margin over Steward on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Gators.

Hayden Dunlow looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Thomas Conrad, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Jack Bonney was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Greenbrier Christian Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Granby came up short against Kempsville on Monday and fell 11-7.

Granby's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2. As for Greenbrier Christian Academy, their record now sits at 5-1.

Greenbrier Christian Academy beat Granby 5-2 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Greenbrier Christian Academy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
