Los Padres recap Nov. 7, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Templeton, who took down 246th ranked Templeton, 48-24. Derek Viles ran for 246 yards in the win.
Morro Bay moved up to 277 from 312 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Los Padres. The Pirates were able to make move up by topping the Eagles 48-24.
Nipomo's dynamic duo of Luke Shurtleff and Quintin Bland proved tough for Santa Ynez to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Shurtleff threw for 261 yards and three touchdowns and Bland had 189 yards receiving. Ian Wilkinson helped Nipomo's passing attack out by catching four balls for 50 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Shurtleff and Tommy Saenz the Titans have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Shurtleff leads the league in passing with 1739 yards, while Saenz has rushed for 1386 yards this season. Templeton's Tobey Isbell leads the league in receiving yards with 604 on 32 catches.
Nipomo was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in the league. Russ Edwards' team vanquished the Pirates 37-20 earlier in the week.
