It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lorenzo had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Whitharral Panthers 77-75. Winning may never get old, but the Hornets sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nathaniel Sansom, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 14 boards. Sansom's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenton Robinson, who went 7-for-15 to rack up 18 points and five assists.
Lorenzo pushed their record up to 22-11 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.9 points over those games. As for Whitharral, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 21-8.
As of now, neither Lorenzo nor Whitharral have any future games scheduled.
