The Summit Academy Bears will venture away from home to challenge the Orem Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Summit Academy has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 13.
Summit Academy and Mountain View faced off in a Battle of the Bears on Tuesday. The Bears lost 21-5 to the Bruins.

Summit Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Luttio, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Luttio is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another was Jerilynn Blackham, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Orem suffered their closest defeat since May 8, 2025 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Uintah by a score of 13-11.
Camber Hancock made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and fired off three home runs, five RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-4. Jaileigh DeMaria was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.
Orem's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-9. As for Summit Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Summit Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .401. However, it's not like Orem struggles in that department as they've averaged .370. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Summit Academy suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Orem when the teams last played back in March of 2020. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
