The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Prairie City-Monroe Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Mid-Prairie sitting on three straight wins and Prairie City-Monroe on five.
Mid-Prairie can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They blew past Northeast 49-18 on the road.
Mid-Prairie's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Hudson Ehrenfelt, who gained 186 total yards and two touchdowns, and Brady Weber, who threw for 162 yards and five touchdowns. Mid-Prairie also got help from Dylan Henry who showed off his sure hands for 99 receiving yards.
Another reason for the win was Mid-Prairie's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Northeast's QB won't forget Kaden Kos anytime soon given Kos sacked him four times.
Meanwhile, Prairie City-Monroe got themselves on the board against Interstate 35 on Friday, but Interstate 35 never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Roadrunners 42-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Prairie City-Monroe, who have now won five games by 29 points or more so far this season.
Mid-Prairie now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Prairie City-Monroe, their victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-2.
Mid-Prairie strolled past Prairie City-Monroe when the teams last played back in October of 2015 by a score of 28-10. Will Mid-Prairie repeat their success, or does Prairie City-Monroe have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
