The Lamar Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell 49-37 to Starkville Academy. Lamar was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Starkville Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jonathan Hart, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. Zion Huggins was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds.
Lamar's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Starkville Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
Lamar and Nanih Waiya will round out the year against one another at 12:00 p.m. on December 28th at. Starkville Academy will be staying on the road on December 28th to face off against Houlka at 10:45 a.m. on December 28th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Houlka is ranked 151st, while Starkville Academy is ranked 134th).
