It was a good run, but the Duanesburg Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of Shaker by a score of 54-52. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Duanesburg of the 61-47 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Shaker found their leader in underclassman Sofia Lanni, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lanni has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sierra Carter, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Duanesburg's loss dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Shaker, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.
Duanesburg will head out on the road to challenge Mayfield at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Mayfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven last Thursday. As for Shaker, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Niskayuna at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
