If the North Side Gators were riding high off their 34-12 takedown of the Leland Cubs on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. North Side took a 44-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Greenville. North Side has not had much luck with Greenville recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Greenville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charlisa Barney, who scored 17 points along with 3 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Barney has scored at least 25% of Greenville's points. Another player making a difference was Coriyonna Brown, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds.
North Side now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Greenville, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Side will challenge Edwards at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greenville, they will head out on the road to face off against Clarksdale at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Clarksdale comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
