Basketball Recap: Elm Creek Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Elm Creek won the last time they faced Bertrand and things went their way on Thursday too. The Elm Creek Buffaloes took down the Bertrand Vikings 64-47. The victory was nothing new for the Buffaloes as they're now sitting on three straight.

It was another big night for Quin Oberg, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Erickson, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.

Elm Creek was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bertrand only four assists.

Bertrand's loss came despite strong showings from Thunder Nelson and Marcus Hernandez. Nelson posted 22 points in addition to eight boards and four steals, while Hernandez went 5-for-9 en route to 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Nelson has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played.

Elm Creek's record now sits at 20-4. As for Bertrand, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-6.

Coming up, Elm Creek will challenge Hitchcock County on Saturday. Bertrand does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
