Basketball Game Preview: Hamilton Township Rangers vs. Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs

Hamilton Township is 2-8 against Bloom-Carroll since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Hamilton Township Rangers will take on the Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Hamilton Township is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.3 points per game this season.

Last Saturday, Hamilton Township made easy work of Linden-McKinley and carried off a 63-37 win. The Rangers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 21 points or more this season.

Lucas King and Jovon McBride were among the main playmakers for Hamilton Township as the former dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 boards and the latter went 8 of 14 on his way to 18 points in addition to five assists and five boards. McBride's evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daviace Packnett, who posted eight points.

Hamilton Township smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Bloom-Carroll ended up a good deal behind Bishop Ready on Wednesday and lost 58-40. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 294th, while the Silver Knights are ranked 24th).

Bloom-Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Hamilton Township, their victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

Hamilton Township came up short against Bloom-Carroll when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 67-54. Can Hamilton Township avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
