Adirondack managed to slip by Poland the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wildcats lost 12-4 to the Tornadoes last Thursday. The loss was the Wildcats' first of the season.
Adirondack saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brea Barrow, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run. Skyler Green was another, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Hamilton put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 10-6 win over McGraw. That's two games straight that the Emerald Knights have won by exactly four runs.
Ellie Freeth made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Adriana Catania was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhiannon Murray, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Hamilton lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Having lost for the first time this season, Adirondack fell to 3-1. As for Hamilton, their record is now 4-0.
Adirondack came up short against Hamilton in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 4-1. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
