It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Mason Bulldogs had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Walled Lake Western and snuck past 44-41. The victory was just business as usual for Mason, who after 12 games remain undefeated this season.
Despite the loss, Walled Lake Western still got an impressive performance from Gavin Noonan, who rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown. Troy Temple made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Mason pushed their record up to 12-0 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Walled Lake Western, their loss dropped their record down to 10-2.
Mason will square off against King at 7:00 p.m. on November 18th. King will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 68th, while Mason is ranked seventh). Walled Lake Western does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
