It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Sequoyah Chiefs can now relate to. They took a serious blow against the Tigers on Friday, falling 48-14. Sequoyah's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Kolby Martin threw for 162 yards on 13 of 25 attempts. Jackson Hancock was his top target, picking up 109 receiving yards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Douglas County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zamarcus (zman) lindley, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. JAMES JOHNSON was another key contributor, gaining 55 total yards and two touchdowns.
Sequoyah's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Douglas County, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Sequoyah does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Douglas County will look to defend their home field on Friday against Lee County at 7:30 p.m. Lee County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
