The Martin Clippers are on the road again on Monday and plays Wellspring Prep at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th.
After soaring to 57 points the game before, Martin were a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 84-21 loss at the hands of Bellevue. While losing is never fun, Martin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 728th, while the Broncos are ranked 265th).
Meanwhile, Wellspring Prep had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 68-58 win over Potter's House Christian. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Martin's loss was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Wellspring Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Martin took a serious blow against the in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 76-42. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Wellspring Prep's Zeekeal Jackson, who scored 20 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Now that Martin knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
