Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Strathmore Spartans walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Lancers 42-7 on the road. The victory was nothing new for Strathmore as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Gerardo Ruiz was on fire: he rushed for 225 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 13.2 yards per carry. Ruiz's longest rush was for an incredible 77 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ramon Rodriguez, who rushed for 108 yards on only 13 carries.
Strathmore has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Bell Gardens, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
Strathmore does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bell Gardens also has no future games currently scheduled.
