The Escalon Cougars had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against West Park on Friday as Escalon made off with a 48-28 win. Escalon might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.
Escalon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joshua Graham, who rushed for 173 yards and two touchdowns. Jamin Miller was in the mix as well, providing Escalon with three touchdowns.
West Park's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaden Jackson, who threw for 344 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Ryan Sisson, who picked up 175 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The win (which was Escalon's eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.0 points per game. As for West Park, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.
Escalon will square off against Patterson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran up and down the field in their prior games. West Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
