Acalanes and the Knights are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Acalanes Dons will head out on the road to face off against the Las Lomas Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Acalanes is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Acalanes got the win against the Red Devils by a conclusive 72-50. Acalanes pushed the score to 60-36 by the end of the third, a deficit the Red Devils cut but never quite recovered from.
Liam Krackeler was nothing short of spectacular: he shot 4-for-8 from deep and dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Brown, who scored four points along with ten assists and five steals.
Meanwhile, Las Lomas can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They breezed by Concord on the road to the tune of 83-46. Given Las Lomas' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 274th, while the Bears are ranked 1005th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Acalanes' win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-18. As for Las Lomas, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-12 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Acalanes, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 72-57 loss to the Knights in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Acalanes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
