The Pocatello Thunder had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They put the hurt on Preston with a sharp 48-28 victory. The result was nothing new for Pocatello, who have now won three matches by 20 points or more so far this season.
Ryken Echohawk had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 204 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Ty Wilkinson was another key contributor, picking up 138 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Preston's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Karson Winder, who gained 129 total yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Reggie Larsen, who rushed for 29 yards and a touchdown.
Pocatello's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Preston, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Pocatello will square off against Sandpoint at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sandpoint has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 290 points over their last seven matches. Preston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
