The Linn-Mar Lions''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Southeast Polk on the road and fell 49-9. While losing is never fun, Linn-Mar can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 94th, while Southeast Polk is ranked first).
Southeast Polk's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Connor Moberly led the charge by throwing for 167 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes, and also punching in a rushing score. Carson Robbins also helped out with an impressive 105 receiving yards.
Linn-Mar's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Southeast Polk, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Linn-Mar does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Southeast Polk will square off against Cedar Falls at TBD on Friday. Cedar Falls will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
