The South-Doyle Cherokees scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They came out on top against Campbell County by a score of 77-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Campbell County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jordan Day, who scored 18 points along with five steals, and Gavin Cox who scored 24 points. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Keegan Nelson, who scored five points.
South-Doyle's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Campbell County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-11.
South-Doyle is on the road again on Friday and play against Loudon at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. As for Campbell County, they will be playing at home against Powell at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Powell will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
