Basketball Recap: Eno River Academy Takes a Loss

Eno River Academy lost against Vance Charter back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eno River Academy Bobcats fell 77-67 to the Vance Charter Knights. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Eno River Academy lost, don't look at Cole Creedle. Despite the final result, he shot 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double with 22 points and 15 boards. Creedle has been hot, having posted ten or more rebounds the last five times he's played. Sammer Day was another key player, putting up 16 points and eight boards.

Vance Charter was led to victory by Nick Pentoney and Gary Wilkins. Pentoney posted 27 points, while Wilkins earned 26 points. That's the most points Wilkins has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Caleb Towne, who scored ten points.

Eno River Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Vance Charter, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-5.

Eno River Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Vance Charter at 6:00 p.m. on February 25th. One thing working in Vance Charter's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine contests. As for they, they have already played their next match, a 74-52 win against Roxboro Community on the 17th.
