The McKinley Tech Trainers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past Bell, posting a 59-22 victory on the road. That looming 59-22 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for McKinley Tech yet this season.
Leading McKinley Tech to victory were Demontae Neclos and Marcus Dunbar. Neclos scored 16 points, while Dunbar scored 18 points along with six assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which Neclos has scored at least 25% of McKinley Tech's points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Benning, who scored four points.
Bell's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Syrus Edwards, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kwali Moorer, who scored six points.
McKinley Tech now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Bell, their loss was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McKinley Tech won't have much time to rest: their next match is against KIPP College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. KIPP College Prep is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Bell, they will head out on the road to face off against Roosevelt at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Roosevelt focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Monday.
