Basketball Game Preview: Sarasota Christian Blazers vs. Babcock Trailblazers

Sarasota Christian has gone 3-0 against Babcock recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Sarasota Christian Blazers will head out to face off against the Babcock Trailblazers at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Sarasota Christian is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Seacrest Country Day just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 47-38 to the Stingrays.

Sarasota Christian's defeat came about despite a quality game from Ben Milliken, who posted 18 points along with six boards and three steals. Milliken's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Brock, who went 5 of 9 en route to 14 points.

Meanwhile, Babcock was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Imagine School at North Port an easy 64-38 victory.

Sarasota Christian will need focus on slowing down Finn Habing, one of several Babcock players who made an impact when they last played. He went 5 of 11 on his way to 15 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylen McKee, who had seven points along with six assists and five boards.

Sarasota Christian's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6. As for Babcock, their record now sits at 3-8.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Sarasota Christian has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 29.9 boards per game. However, it's not like Babcock struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
