A  win for Genoa-Hugo just wasn't in the cards  on Thursday as the  squad wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They took a  blow against the Arickaree Bison, falling  70-14. The Pirates lost against the Bison in their previous head to head  back in September of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the  46-41 score last time.
 Although Genoa-Hugo took the loss, they still got scores from  Levi Yoder and  Teghan Seymour.
 It was another big night for  Austin Wright, who rushed for 337 yards and five touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also threw for 35 yards and a touchdown for Arickaree. Wright also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D,  making six total tackles and defending a pass.
 This is the second loss in a row for Genoa-Hugo and  nudges their season record down to 2-6. As for Arickaree, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four games,  which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record  this season.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Genoa-Hugo will get a bit of extra time to process the  defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hanover at 7:00  p.m.  on November 1st. Arickaree will also get a bit of a break before their next  matchup: they'll face off against Cheraw at 1:00  p.m.  on November 2nd.
