The Mesilla Valley Christian School SonBlazers will face off against the Loving Falcons at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. Mesilla Valley Christian School knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past 12 games -- so hopefully Loving likes a good challenge.
Loving's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Thursday: Mesilla Valley Christian School hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The SonBlazers never let Capitan get on the board and left with a 23-0 victory last Friday. The SonBlazers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by nine runs or more this season.

Jeremiah Sullivan was a major factor no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last 22 games he's played dating back to last season.
In other batting news, Matt Borde was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jude Herrera, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one double, and one RBI.
Mesilla Valley Christian School was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .636. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in 13 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Loving rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Wolverines. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.
Mesilla Valley Christian School pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Loving, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.
Everything went Mesilla Valley Christian School's way against Loving when the teams last played back in March of 2018, as Mesilla Valley Christian School made off with a 13-2 win. Do the SonBlazers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
