Softball Game Preview: Schulenburg Shorthorns vs. Moulton Bobkatz

Schulenburg is 7-1 against Moulton since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Schulenburg will host Moulton at 6:00 p.m. Schulenburg has given up an average of 12.4 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Schulenburg is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Louise by a score of 33-32 on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (17), the Shorthorns still had to take the loss.

Summer Livingston made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all seven of her plate appearances with six runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those six runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Woytek, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-6.

Even though they lost, Schulenburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Moulton might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-2 to Shiner, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Bobkatz haven't had much luck with the Comanches recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Schulenburg dropped their record down to 2-14-1 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Moulton, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
