Graham is 0-10 against Eastern Alamance since November of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Graham Red Devils' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Eastern Alamance Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on January 15th.
Graham suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Friday. They were outmatched by Southeast Alamance on the road and fell 59-17. While losing is never fun, Graham can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 527th, while Southeast Alamance is ranked 126th).
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Eastern Alamance beat Cedar Ridge 39-35 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Eastern Alamance.
Eastern Alamance relied on the efforts of Ayanna Garner, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Makayla Thompson, who scored nine points along with 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Nicole Hester, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Graham has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for Eastern Alamance, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Graham was dealt a bruising 80-22 loss at the hands of Eastern Alamance in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Graham was down 44-16.
