The Lehman Lobos lost against the La Joya Coyotes back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Lehman took a 56-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of La Joya.
Leading La Joya to victory were Leo Hinojosa and Leo Villarreal. Hinojosa scored 17 points, while Villarreal scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Villarreal continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Aydin Wilder-Bey was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds.
Lehman has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for La Joya, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
Lehman will be playing in front of their home fans against Leander at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Leander presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lehman in Texas (Leander is ranked 324th, while Lehman is ranked 1058th). As for La Joya, they will head out on the road to face off against Weslaco at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Weslaco will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
