Sierra Valley Conference recap October 1, 2013
Liberty Ranch moved up to 505 from 583 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Sierra Valley Conference. The Hawks were able to move up by besting Galt 53-0.
Vista del Lago added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating El Dorado, 33-19. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Matt Jimison threw for 434 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Brayden Shouse had a great week catching the football as Vista del Lago beat the Cougars. He caught 14 passes for 223 yards.
Shouse was the best receiver in the league this week as Mike Struebing's team beat El Dorado. Shouse racked up 14 receptions for 223 yards. Tylor Rhee helped Vista del Lago's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 61 yards.
The Eagles' Jimison and Tyler Kaim led Sierra Valley Conference in both passing and receiving yards. Jimison has thrown for 1,434 yards this season, while Kaim, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 28 catches for 370 yards. Joseph R. Volek's team's Logan Kirby leads the league in rushing yards with 802.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Vista del Lago takes on second place Liberty Ranch. Vista del Lago beat the Cougars last week, while Liberty Ranch defeated the Warriors.
Darin Higgins' team took down Galt 53-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. William Ranse Gale threw for 46 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 63 yards in the win.
