After flying high against the Gilbert Classical Academy Spartans on Tuesday, the Leading Edge Academy - GEC Spartans came back down to earth. Leading Edge Academy - GEC had to suffer through a rough 93-60 loss at the hands of San Tan Charter. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Leading Edge Academy - GEC in their matchups with San Tan Charter: they've now lost four in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead San Tan Charter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Peyton Lubash, who scored 20 points. The contest was Lubash's 18th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of William Gordon, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds.
Leading Edge Academy - GEC's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for San Tan Charter, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leading Edge Academy - GEC will take on San Carlos at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. San Carlos has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 544 points over their last nine contests. As for San Tan Charter, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Gilbert Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 8th. Gilbert Classical Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while San Tan Charter is ranked 32nd).
